International Seminar on Environment, Culture, and Religion

This Plaque of Appreciation is awarded to you at the Second International Seminar on Environment, Religion, and Culture: An Intercultural Dialogue for Sustainable Development.

(Iran's Environment News Agency) - Zahra Javaherian, Director of the Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics Office of the DOE announced the 2nd International Seminar on Environment, Culture, and Religion as April 23-24, 2016 in Tehran, and hailed it as a new approach in the context of Agenda 2030 and the goals of sustainable development.
 
Javaherian said, "This seminar will be held in cooperation with DOE , the United Nations   Environment Program (UNEP) and United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Speakers and foreign guests from 5 countries, all continents and nine religions. Javaherian reviewed the history of environmental conferences in Iran and added, "This seminar is being held due to the successful and positive results of the 1st seminar on Environment, Culture and Religion in 2011 as well as well as the 2005 Conference on Environment, Peace and Dialogue among Civilizations and Cultures with the support and participation of UNESCO and the United Nations.
She referred to the framework of this seminar as a "transformation of our world: 2030 agenda for sustainable development" which has been confirmed as the action plan for people, our planet and prosperity in the recent meeting of the United Nations in New York (September 15th).
 
Javaherian said, "We expect many achievements from this seminar, including communities discussing  meeting the challenges of sustainability of  the environment, in addition to the motivation and determination of religious communities in order to provide rational solutions to solve environmental crises."
